ATANASOV: the European student entrepreneur status. This is the ambition displayed by International Horizons for the years 2019 to 2022. A new project in KA2 is being prepared, scheduled to be filed in April 2019 for a start in September 2019: explanations.
Student Entrepreneur Status
A particularity of France and Belgium, this status grants rights and duties to students who set up a business. Per student, hear learners. They benefit from support, a special tax system, financial devices and grants related to the legal status. And the observation: it works. In one year, the number of students starting a business has increased by 100%. And, companies create do not face a bigger failure than ‘traditional’ entrepreneurs.
The student entrepreneur status in the European Union
He does not exist. But the flaw is exploitable, and certainly acceptable to the Member States. Education is a shared competence between Europe and the states, the youth is ‘directed’ through the Bratislava Charter. The student entrepreneur status can therefore be presented, more, as an action for the youth, in terms of taxation and fully economic device.
IF tomorrow, the status is uniform throughout the European Union, it would imply that a Bulgarian can start a business with a Cypriot, regardless of where to register. Status also implies from the outset an equality of rights and duty. But, let’s go further.
To take the example again, the cost of living in Bulgaria is not the same as in France or Sweden. More than equality, it is fairness that is needed. If the subsidy of 5000 € in Bulgaria, it should be at 10000 € in France, for 13000 € in Sweden. [fictitious figures]. To create a viable entrepreneurial student status, it is necessary to establish a fair status in the European territories. With benefit, the nationality and not the place of residence: the project could even seduce the nationalists!
ATANASOV: the status of European entrepreneur student
The goal is obviously to create the status, we have absolutely no power. But, well to make a white booklet with a panel of recommendations that concern both the youth accompaniment that the legal, tax etc. We are starting the project with Bulgaria, Macedonia, Sweden, Slovenia, and therefore, France.
Let’s see what happen next!
